Gum trees can have some lovely very simple bark textures and colours as is seen in this tree. The sun was just at the right angle to create the lighting effect on the imaginary cliff. This suited this artwork composition, which appeared to be a icy cold water body below a frozen cliff. I added the artist as I could imagine that a scene such as this in reality would be a wonderfull scene to paint. I photographed it and added the detail.
