A piece of split firewood showed several different coloured and textured layers. It reminded me of a typical Australian outback seen. As the Tour de France was on TV at the time of finding this piece of firewood, I thought that this would make a good title for my artwork.The addition of the cyclists and spectators was all that was needed to added to the background.
