The tree bark of the red Angophora tree became the background or starting canvas for this artwork. By rotating the photo 90 degrees, the tree bark texture and colours depicted a landscape. By adding detail such as the birds and the deck chair, the artwork was created, resembling the colours and wildlife of the Australian outback.
