"Lady Takes the Stage" is an image seen in a piece of split fire wood. The colours and textures formed the character. If you look closely the two halves of the split fire wood, where the black hair is, on Lady takes the stage, is actually a recess in shadow which becomes the fur on the hood of the eskimos coat. All that was needed to create the artwork, was some highlights to outline the shoes, scarf, handbag and sun glasses. The bulge in the split grain became the stage curtain as she walked through.
NOTE: A copy of the original photo is included and is attached to the back of the artmount.
