The bark of an old burnt tree had fallen off leaving the old smooth trunk exposed. It was cut up for firewood. When the sun came out in the afternoon, after a rainy day, the colour glowed orange. The textures and markings on the tree trunk depicted the scene of people in a boat on a dam with a cottage beyond. By adding the appropriate detail to this background and a full moon, this scene was created.
